How does stress manifest itself?
We now know something about what can happen in our bodies when stress manifest itself. Still there are more, other important stress reactions to be aware of. If you have or have had any of below reactions, it could be stress;

Fatigue that does not improve with sleep, restlessness, sleeping problems, change in sexual desire or response
Indifference, not able to make simple choices.
Moodiness, low self-esteem, withdrawing or isolating from people
Irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, respiratory distress, asthma
Confusion, difficulty sharing idea, difficulty engaging in mutual problem solving
Hippocampus is affected
In our Brain Hippocampus is affected, it shrinks, by long term stress. The reason is high levels of cortisol in the bloodstream. This could lead to atrophy. So there is a real physical reason that we lose our short term memory!
Luckily, at least the effects of atrophy appear to be reversible if the stress is discontinued. Our body and mind will, however, react more easily to stress-situations after Hippocampus once been affected.
Hopefully your reactions are temporarily, and in that case it’s not that hard on your body and mind.
To avoid deeper stress affects, please make sure that you increase your self-knowledge to be able to act before it’s too late.
