Throughout life, we have different phases and different experiences. Therefore we need to look at different solutions for one another to our stressors as well.
Still, in general there are some simple tools that you can use, no matter who/what your stressors are
To be able to change anything, we need to be aware of what we do and why we do it. We need to understand that we have a possibility to reconsider. If we for example aren’t able to change a situation, we can work with changing our attitude against it. Important to keep in mind, that the only person we can change is ourselves, others we can affect but never change.
Sometimes we are not even aware of what issues that make us stressed out. Please take a moment to make your “stressors” conscious by a simple exercise:
Begin with taking a piece of paper and a pen out;
Think about what is making you stressed out in your life: Put these down on the paper; things/events/people/situations.
Sort it out:
- Things you can change? Prioritize the ones you should act upon, an act upon one thing at a time! Can you find a structure, working out for you?
- Are there things you cannot change? Learn to accept that it is so. The only thing you can change here is your point of view about the situation.
Keep in mind that even the longest trip starts with a first step. So, take one step at a time and enjoy.
Below you find a prayer worth considering; Prayer of Serenity, a good tool to use.
GRANT ME THE SERENITY
TO ACCEPT THE THINGS I CANNOT CHANGE
COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS I CAN
AND WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE"
