Kindness and the Subconscious Mind.
We all know what it means to be kind to others, to be helpful and considerate. If a friend or family member reaches out to us with a problem or issue they’re struggling with, we give them our undivided attention, and do our best to offer the love and support they need.
But how often do we do that for ourselves? Or are we on ‘automatic pilot’ as we listen to that voice in our heads that berates tells us off, that we should be doing it better, or that we’re just not good enough. On and on it goes, until we feel we are that voice, we believe the lies without question.
If we find ourselves caught up in a stream of negative self talk, then it is time to bring our conscious awareness to the negativity and in that moment say ‘Stop, enough now!’ and offer kindness and consideration to ourselves, to be our own best friend.
We would never talk to our family and friends, the way we talk to ourselves, so why put up with it? We have the power to change our thoughts, and in doing so, we can change our mood and our inner reality. If we are constantly berating and offering negative words, our subconscious will believe it as the truth, and as a consequence we will create our outer reality from this perspective.
Our subconscious doesn’t know the difference between what we imagine in our heads, and actual life. It is vitally important to make our subconscious mind our friend, or it will be our worse enemy. It is like an obedient child, and will do whatever we program it to do!
So, throughout the day, whenever that negative mind chatter starts, first say:
- Use your name and say I love you, for example “Clara, I love you.”
- Then “Clara, I forgive you.”
- After, repeat your favorite positive affirmation, until you start to feel a shift inside.
- The most effective affirmation to use is: I love myself! I deserve to feel great! Always repeat this three times.
Eventually a sense of ease and relief will emerge from within. It is time to start treating ourselves, as we would our own best friend. Then, in doing so, we are actively starting to change the old program in our subconscious mind.
First it may feel challenging, because it is new, but with persistence eventually it will become easy for us to be kind to ourselves, a natural state of being.
